Students presentation in ACR

Why do people release their private data to companies they do not know in exchange for apps or games on social media platforms?

This question was the inspiration for the work of the students and members of the research lab Carla Silveira Netto, Simoni Rohden, Marina Lugoch, Natalia Englert and Valentina Ortiz Ubal. The working paper was presented at ACR in this year, one of the most important conferences in Marketing and Consumption area. The subject of self-disclosure studied the influence of variables such as trust, endorsement, familiarity, risk perception, privacy concerns, and utility / hedonic content of the application.

The GPMC congratulates the authors for this incredible achievement!
