POLÍTICAS DE FORMAÇÃO EM EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA
E SAÚDE
POLIFES (Education Policies in Physical Education and Health) is a research group linked to the Faculty of Physical Education of The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and to its graduate program in Human Movement Sciences. The concept of education for our group, despite being linked to the term ‘policies,' is not restricted to the knowledge, skill, and understanding that you get from attending school, college, or university. It involves the idea of the construction of itself that goes beyond those formal spaces. POLIFES develops research projects that critically examine, most of them from a biopolitical perspective, the implication of the principles of physical activity and active living in the body culture and health education. Such projects include the study of curricula, teaching, body practices in health services, programs for the promotion of physical activity and health, body practices at gyms and other public spaces, as well as media-based cultural artifacts.
