Proficiency

MASTER'S DEGREE
Master's students must become proficient in a foreign language, preferably by the third semester of the course.

DOCTORATE DEGREE
Doctoral students have their proficiency taken advantage of when they enter, and must take another proficiency test, in a language other than that taken in the master's degree, preferably by the sixth semester of the course.

Proficiency tests can be taken within the University, which provides free tests annually.
The tests can be taken at external institutions, as long as they are recognized by CAPLLE – Commission for Assessment of Proficiency in Reading in Foreign Languages. See information about tests and procedures to be adopted to obtain evidence equivalence here.
