RESUMO:
Este estudo propõe uma metodologia para a leitura da cidade de Porto Alegre, RS, por meio da refiguração de seus palimpsestos através de imagens do passado, oriundas de acervos e/ou bancos de imagens, e imagens do presente, realizadas pelo pesquisador, em campo. A metodologia proposta neste estudo foi construída a partir de uma caminhada abordando a escolha e a maneira de utilização dos conceitos para o desenvolvimento do método. Pretendeu-se, a partir do processo de superposição de fotografias produzir novas imagens urbanas. A pesquisa teve a intenção de testar a metodologia proposta em lugares na cidade com o intuito de provar a capacidade de evidenciar os processos de transformação ocorridos ao longo do tempo em Porto Alegre. E, desse modo, provocar possíveis novas leituras sobre arranjo urbano da cidade. A refiguração de um palimpsesto das transformações urbanas se faz preeminente na perspectiva de salientar os processos que designaram as formas e as construções em determinadas regiões da cidade. A metodologia desenvolvida e proposta neste trabalho pretende abrir novas possibilidades para o estudo da cidade a partir dos processos de destruição e reconstrução das cidades

ABSTRACT:
This study proposes a methodology for reading the city of Porto Alegre, RS, through the refiguration of its palimpsests through images of the past, from collections and/or image banks, and images of the present, made by the researcher, in the field. The methodology proposed in this study was built from a walk addressing the choice and the way of using the concepts for the development of the method. It was intended, from the process of overlapping photographs to produce new urban images. The research intended to test the proposed methodology in places in the city in order to prove the ability to highlight the transformation processes that have occurred over time in Porto Alegre. And, thus, provoke possible new readings on the urban arrangement of the city. The refiguration of a palimpsest of urban transformations is preeminent in the perspective of highlighting the processes that designated the forms and constructions in certain regions of the city. The methodology developed and proposed in this work aims to open new possibilities for the study of the city from the processes of destruction and reconstruction of cities.
