Since its foundation in 1982, the UFRGS Biotechnology Center has been involved in training human resources and developing technologies in 4 main areas:
Areas that communicate across our activities, generating objective impacts in areas such as human health, animal health and agriculture. Furthermore, the results of these researches find in CBiot a solid space for their translation into new ventures capable of contributing to solving society's problems.
One of the indicators of the impact of CBiot's activities on Gaúcho and Brazilian societies is the quantity and quality of articles published by our researchers in highly relevant international journals, often subject to interactions with the productive sector.
Most of these works are associated with the training activities of our students into new high-level researchers, ready to tackle societal problems, whether in teaching, research institutes, or technology-based companies.
