The work developed by the research group guided by Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler already finds a good international recognition. As can be seen through partnerships with various universities and research groups from around the world, by presenting formal exchanges with the following universities and research groups:
- Dr. Sebastian Engell, TU Dortmund University, Germany
- Dr. Bernard Hitzmann, University of Hohenheim, Germany
- Dr. Frank Allgöwer, University of Stuttgart, Germany
- Dr. Wolfgang Marquardt, RWTH Aachen University, Germany
- Dr. Sirish L. Shah, University of Alberta, Canada
With each of these groups we have an exchange of students and researchers in the most diverse levels in both directions (Brazilians going abroad as well as foreigners coming to work in our group).
In the area of biorefineries, more specifically in the area of rapid pyrolysis the following partnerships were established recently:
- Dr. Roger Ruan, Bioproducts and Reneable Energy, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering, University of Minnesota, USA – PhD student Fernanda Borges held a PhD sandwich course from 09/2012 to 08/2013 in the group of Prof. Ruan
- Akwasi A. Boateng, coordinator of the “Sustainable Biofuels and Co-Products Research Unit” of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), which is one of the main research centers of the United States Department of Agriculture Agriculture – USDA). Dr. Boateng is a visiting researcher on the project approved in the Science Without Borders program.
- George Huber, Biofuel Research Group, University of Wisconsin, United States. – PhD student Juliana Espindola held a PhD sandwich degree from 03/2013 to 02/2014 in the research group of Prof. Huber.
