“Honorable Mention (2nd place)” in the Mercosul Science and Technology Award 2018.

Prof. Jorge Trierweiler, on behalf of GIMSCOP, was awarded “Honorable Mention (2nd place)” in the Mercosul Science and Technology Award 2018.
The project “Evaluation, Diagnosis and Maintenance of Predictive Controllers in Industry 4.0” by the Professor of the Chemical Engineering Department received an honorable mention in the Senior Researcher category. The awards ceremony took place on October 31 in Brasilia.
The award took place on 10/31/2019 in Brasília.

Winner of the Gerdau Digital Scrap Challenge

The GIMSCOP team, formed by Doctor Jônathan W. V. Dambros and professors Jorge O. Trierweiler and Marcelo Farenzena, shared the first place with the Cape Verde team in the international challenge Gerdau Digital Scrap Challenge, in which 90 teams from the most diverse countries were running.

Winner of the ANP of Technologic Innovation award 2017

The GIMSCOP/UFRGS + TriSolutions + PETROBRAS were the winners of the ANP Award for Technologic Innovation 2017 in the Category II with the project “Pilots of SSE Predictive Maintenance Systems”. Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was at the ceremony representing GIMSCOP/DEQUI/UFRGS  on behalf of the entire GIMSCOP team including professors Marcelo Farenzena, Pedro Fernandes and Luciane Trierweiler and the students/researchers who are part of the BrToolKits project.

Best oral presentation at the Adchem 2015 Symposium:

The work “Assessment of Model-Plant Mismatch by the Nominal Sensitivity Function for Unconstrained MPC” by Viviane Botelho, Jorge O. Trierweiler, Marcelo Farenzena, and Ricardo Duraiski, received the recognition of Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Symposium on Advanced Control of Chemical Process held in Whistler, Canada. This work was presented at the event by Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler.

TriSolutions Merit 2011

Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler received recognition from  TriSolutions – Soluções em Engenharia Ltda. – for its contribution over the last 10 years consolidating the BRPerfX/TriClPM solution.

Donald P. Eckman Education Award 2010 (by ISA):

In 2010, due to his enormous contribution to education and development in science, engineering, and technology of instrumentation and control systems, Prof. Dr. Jorge O. Trierweiler was awarded the International Donald P. Eckman Education Award granted by ISA the International Society of Automation.

Supervisor of the winner team of the ChemTech National Process Control Challenge 2027

The UFRGS team (to which Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor) was the winner of the ChemTECH National Challenge held in Rio de Janeiro involving teams from the most important Brazilian universities.

Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the first place winner Cristiane Kayser in the bachelor category of the Petrobras Technology Prize in its third edition (2006/2007 edition)

2012 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the second bests work at the  COBEQ (Brazilian Congress of Chemical Engineering) 2012 in the PSE.

2011 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the 2nd place at the Talento Inovador 2011, XX Feira de Iniciação à Inovação e ao Desenvolvimento Tecnológico (FINOVA 2011).

2010 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the best work at the Congresso BETCON 2010.

2010 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the winner of the Prêmio Jovem Pesquisador 2010, XIX Feira de Iniciação à Inovação e ao Desenvolvimento Tecnologico (FINOVA 2010).

2007 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the best bachelor thesis at the 3rd Petrobras Technology Prize.

2003 – Prof. Jorge O. Trierweiler was the supervisor of the 1st place of the Prêmio BRASKEM-ABEQ de Pós Graduação, BRASKEM-ABEQ, category master thesis
