Título da Proposta de Tese: “IDENTIFIABILITY OF COMPLEX SYSTEMS”

Resumo:
“This work deals with linear dynamic networks. They can be defined as a set of signals (nodes) interconnected by causal transfer functions which may be excited by known external excitation signals and corrupted by unknown noise sources. The interest relies in the experimental settings for which it is possible to identify the dynamic network parameters. More specifically, determining which nodes need to be excited and which ones need to be measured in order to render the network’s parameters identifiable. As a result, the excitation/measurement patterns are characterized for some network structures. Once it is defined the experimental scenarios where is possible to identify the network’s parameters, the next natural problem is to determine which excitation/measurement patterns provide better accuracy of the network’s parameter estimates. This will be done by following the prediction error framework. Two structures are considered: branches and cycles. For these kind of networks, some insights for the choice of the experiment setting are given according to the topology and other measures from the network’s parameters.

Keywords: System Identification, Identifiability, Complex Systems, Dynamic Networks.”
