Definição do conceito
Ocorre quando o último toque do jogador para executar o passe é feito com os pés. Ao contrário do passe com as mãos, esse passe pode ser feito para frente, desde que o companheiro que recebe o passe, no momento em que o chute é realizado, esteja posicionado atrás do jogador passador.

The ball kicker aims a short kick just over the heads of the opposition in the hope that it can be re-gathered on the other side of the defensive line; this short kick is called a chip kick.
The ball can be accurately kicked just over the opposition defence, often bouncing up nicely for one of the attacking players, usually the winger who has been able to get through the defensive line quickly, to re-gather it without too much trouble.
