Globular clusters as tracers of the dynamical and chemical evolution of the Milky Way – Angeles Perez Villegas (UNAM, Mexico)

Globular clusters (GCs) are the most ancient objects in the Milky Way. Therefore, they play a key role in the understanding of the dynamical and chemical evolution of the Galaxy. Combining photometric, astrometric, and spectroscopic information from Gaia and APOGEE data, we can have the full phase-space vector and chemical information for the known Milky Way GCs to perform a self-consistent analysis. Also, using the age-metallicity relation, we can identify GCs that came from accreted events such as Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus (GSE), the last major merger that the Galaxy experienced ~10 Gyr ago, or GCs that formed in situ. In this talk, I will discuss the main results we have on the Milky Way GCs in many contexts.
