NAU IFCH presents project at the 2025 Teaching Salon

The IFCH Unit Assessment Center (NAU IFCH) will participate in the UFRGS 2025 Teaching Hall with the presentation of the project “Desafios da Permanência”, which discusses the causes of dropout in undergraduate courses at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences.

The activity takes place on October 22, 2025, at 2 pm, in room 212 of building 43123 (2nd floor) of the Chemistry Institute, on the Vale Campus.

The work will address the main causes of dropout in IFCH courses — which are among the highest rates at UFRGS — and the challenges of facing structural problems such as lack of transportation, food insecurity and limited work opportunities, factors often cited by students as reasons for dropping out of courses in the Humanities area.

The “Challenges of Permanence” project integrates NAU IFCH's actions aimed at promoting permanence and the quality of student training, articulating teaching, research and institutional evaluation in confronting inequalities that impact students' academic path.
