Conversation circle discusses recent experiences of professor Sérgio Schneider in China

The Postgraduate Program in Rural Development (PGDR/UFRGS) and the Study and Research Group in Agriculture and Development (GEPAD) will promote, on November 4th, at 5pm, a conversation with Professor Sérgio Schneider, head of the Department of Sociology at UFRGS. The activity is part of the GEPAD Dialogues and Discussions cycle and will be carried out in a hybrid format, with in-person participation in the PGDR (room to be defined) and online transmission via the link: https://mconf.ufrgs.br/webconf/cisade_2025.
On this occasion, the professor will share his recent experiences in China, with reflections on contemporary transformations in food and rural systems. The conversation aims to encourage debate about the challenges and lessons learned in one of the main contexts of change and innovation in the field of rural and food sociology.
The meeting represents an opportunity for students, researchers and interested parties to dialogue with one of the main references in the area about the social and economic dynamics that mark the rural world from a global perspective.
