Seminar debates the 10th anniversary of the Femicide Law in Brazil

In 2025, Law 13.104, which established femicide as a qualifying circumstance of the crime of homicide, turns 10 years. More recently, in October 2024, Law 14,994 began to predict femicide as an autonomous crime, increasing its minimum and maximum penalties. However, rates of femicide and other forms of gender violence follow as challenges for justice and public safety systems, academia and society.
Given this scenario, the Seminar" 10 years of femicide law in Brazil " proposes a dialogue space between researchers, women and professionals who act directly on the confrontation of these violence. The event will address advances and challenges in implementing the legislation, as well as discussing strategies for strengthening women's protection policies.
