Center for Studies and
Research in Administration
The Center for Studies and Research in Administration (CEPA) is an auxiliary body linked to the School of Administration of the UFRGS. The main objective of CEPA is to bring the University closer to the community through partnerships with public and private organizations carried out through University extension activities and specialized services.
Integrating the fields of academic and applied research, the CEPA undertakes extension courses and provides consulting services in all areas of the Administration, providing direct training to undergraduate and graduate students in their respective operating areas.
As an auxiliary body of a large University, the CEPA has privileged resources and great scope of action, bringing together a multidisciplinary team of professionals with background in world-renowned institutions and experience in both the practical and academic fields, working in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Production and Information Management.
Field of work
The CEPA works in the following areas:
- Academic research: In order to produce research related to the practice of the teaching-learning process, the CEPA advises undergraduate and graduate students in the accomplishment of their academic works based on the information contained in the bibliographic bases;
- Applied research: The background diversity of the faculty of the University allows CEPA to work in several areas of applied research, especially market analysis, contemplating scientific study in an innovative way;
- Training (open or in company): Through University extension courses, inside a company or open to the community, the CEPA offers trainings in the most diverse areas of Administrative Sciences, such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Production and Information Management;
- Consulting: Also supported in the wide background diversity of professionals from the University, the Center for studies and research in Administration offers consulting services in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Production, Agribusiness and Information Management.

Doing Business in Brazil (2015, 2016 and 2017)
Promote knowledge about the economy and relevant aspects of the Brazilian market, besides visiting companies from the state of Rio Grande do Sul and integrating Brazilian and foreign students.

Organize the 22nd International Conference on Management of Technology, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from April 14th to 18th, 2013.

Hold the IV Brazilian Congress of Organizational Studies.
Analysis of the Lamb Market – Porto Alegre, Santa Maria and Caxias do Sul

Business Management Program
Qualify key executives in understanding integrated change management and innovation. The idea is to allow not only the training itself, but integrating and aligning different management actions.
3rd FEBRAVAR – Sindilojas of Porto Alegre
Evaluate the satisfaction of exhibitors and shopkeepers participating in the 3rd Brazilian Retail Fair (FEBRAVAR), an event organized by Sindilojas Porto Alegre, an entity that represents more than 2,500 companies.

Undergraduate Course Evaluation – UPF

The project aims at scientific development and technological training in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Costs, Production and Systems, Science and Technology, Marketing, Agribusiness in general, Strategic Planning, Environmental management and operations.
Contemporary Economics and Public Management
The main objective of this extension course is to promote the updgrade and training of professionals from public and private areas in the topics related to Contemporary Economics and Public Management.
Course profile for training professionals in the area of Administration
Identify what kind of management courses the HEIs are offering to students in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, based on a comparative analysis of the syllabus contents and curricula.
Use of child and adolescent labor in tobacco crops
Identify and describe the current situation regarding the irregular use of child and adolescent labor in tobacco crops located on southern Brazil. Identify health and safety conditions in the work of producers.
