Crisis in Algeria: Army chief demands Bouteflika be declared unfit to rule

Algeria Army chief, Ahmed Gaid Salah, demanded this Wednesday that the 82 years old president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, be declared unfit to govern the country, after protests during February against Bouteflika decison to search for a fifth presidential mandate. Bouteflika has reversed his decison in face of the protests, but the elections have been postponed and he will remain in power until the country has a new constitution. /p>

Sixth number of the Brazilian Journal of African Studies (BJAS) released

It is with great satisfaction that the Brazilian Center of African Studies (CEBRAFRICA) announces the publication of Brazilian Journal of African Studies (BJAS) sixth number. BJAS is a semester publication, in digital and printed format, bilingual (Portuguese/English), dedicated to research, to reflection and to diffusion about African studies. It releases unpublished scientific articles with emphasis to analysis of International Relations, Integration Organizations, Security and Defense, Political Systems, History, Geography, Economy Development, Social Structures and Chains of Thought.
